Welcome to Hooe FC's Summer Tournament 2023!

We are delighted to invite your club to our 2nd annual Six-a-side Tournament to be held at Hooe Rec, Straight Lane, Hooe, East Sussex, TN33 9EL on Sat 1st & Sun 2nd July 2023.

The tournament is to include players according to their current 2022/23 season age groups. All age groups except for U7 & U8 will be competitive. All non-competitive teams will receive participation medals.

Projected Timetable (subject to change depending on number of entries)

Saturday a.m.     Under 8s, Under 10s, Under 9s Girls, Under 11s Girls

Saturday p.m.     Under 7s, Under 9s, Under 11s

Sunday a.m.        Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 12s Girls

Sunday p.m.       Under 13s, Under 15s, Under 14s Girls, Under 16s Girls

(Under 7 age group - please note that children playing up a year must have attained the age of 6 as per FA rules.)

 

Girls – We will be running 5 girls-only age groups: U9s, U11s, U12s, U14s & U16s. Lower ages for each group are allowed - and encouraged - for each age group (i.e., U8s playing in U9s) as we know some clubs have mixed age groups / limited numbers and we would like to promote as much playing time for girls playing football as possible

A Barbecue and refreshments will be available during the day.

Cost of entry per team is £40. It should be noted NO DOGS, ALCOHOL OR SMOKING is allowed, please advise your spectators.

Parking is provided and is £3 per car. 

2022s tournament was incredily popular and lots of age groups filled up fast - so book on to avoid disappointment!
 


Tournament Rules

 

  1. Registration and General Information
  • All teams are advised to arrive in accordance with their first KO time. Please check your fixtures ahead of time. This is to aid traffic for parking.
  • AM slots - 8:45 start
    • 8:45 KO - 8:00 team arrival
    • 9:00 KO - 8:15 team arrival
    • 9:15 KO - 8:30 team arrival
  • PM slots - 14:15 start
    • 14:15 KO - 13:30 team arrival
    • 14:30 KO - 13:45 team arrival
    • 14:45 KO - 14:00 team arrival
  • Upon arrival team coaches will register their team with the results desk
  • All teams should be ready to KO before their scheduled start time to ensure a smooth running of the event.

 

 

  1. Match Duration
  • All games shall consist of one 12-minute game with no half-time.
    • U14s Mixed - 16 minutes with no half time
  • Semi Final and Final - Extra time of 3 minutes in case of a draw.

 

 

  1. Tournament Format
  • Non-competitive age groups will consist of a round robin tournament with all players receiving participation medals at the end.
  • Competitive age groups will consist of groups of 6 teams.
    • top 2 from each group progress through to the Semi Final
    • Girls ages - top 4 from their group will progress to the semi final. 
    • U12s age group -  There will be three groups. Top of each group will progress to semi final, with the Best Ranked 2nd place making up the last semi final place.
  • In case of a draw in semi final and final stages, extra time and penalties shall decide the result.
  • Penalties shall consist of 3 penalties each, and sudden death if needed.
  • 3 points will be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw.
  • In the event of 2 or more teams finishing on the same points, positions will be decided in the order of:
    1. Goal Difference
    2. Goals Scored
    3. Head-to-head record
    4. If still level -  a penalty shoot out shall decide the tie. 

 

 

  1. Players
  • Maximum of 6 players per side on the pitch at one time.
  • Each team can have a nominated 10 players in their squad (as per the team sheets handed in).
  • Players cannot play for multiple teams within the same age group, even if the teams in question are from the same club. 
  • Substitutions shall be roll-on roll-off and shall only be made in the half of the team making the change. Subs can be made at any time providing the ball is out of play (or during a stoppage) and the referee must be informed beforehand.

 

 

  1. Playing Equipment
  • Players must refrain from wearing any jewelry while playing (This includes ALL earrings/piercings, bracelets, watches etc.)
  • All players are required to wear shin pads.
  • Teams are required to wear matching shirts; can all clubs please provide bibs for their respective teams.

 

 

  1. Foul and misconduct
  • Yellow and Red Cards as per 11-a-side rules.
  • If a player is then shown a second yellow card, they will be sent off for the remainder of the game.
  • If at any time a team is 3 players short due to having players sent off then the game shall be abandoned, and the opposing team shall be awarded a 3-0 win, providing the opposing team is not already 3 goals in front.
  • A straight red card will result in the offending player receiving a 1 match ban, equally 2 yellow cards in the same game will result in a 1 match ban. If a player is sent off twice, they will subsequently be banned for the rest of the tournament.
  • Players / Teams will be banned for participating for the following offences before, during or after games – Fighting, offensive or insulting language towards officials, spitting at any other person, head butting, assault or intimidation, refusing to leave the field when ordered, causing a match to be abandoned and consistent dissent or verbal abuse towards opposing players and officials.
  • Ineligible players will result in forfeiting a game and a 3-0 score line for the opposing team. Players must be on the team sheet at registration, and players that are suspended must not take part as per tournament rules.
  • If a professional foul is committed I.e., last man (with a goalscoring opportunity) a penalty will be awarded to the opposition.
  • Players who kick the ball away will be yellow carded.

 

 

  1. Kick Offs & Dead balls
  • The ball must be played backwards from kick off.
  • After a goal has been scored the match shall resume from the center spot.
  • Goal kicks are from the back line.
    • U7s, U8s, U9s, U10s - Players must retreat to behind the halfway line.
  • Goalkeepers cannot score directly from Goal kicks.
  • Goalkeepers cannot kick from their hands, it must be thrown or rolled.
  • Throw ins to be taken if the ball goes off the side-lines.
  • All freekicks that are given are direct.
    • Players on the defending team must be 5 yards away from the ball at free kicks.
  • Penalties will be from the spot and all players apart from taker and goalkeeper must be outside the box at the time of the kick.
    • The goalkeeper must be on his line at the time of kick, otherwise a retake will happen.
  • Corners are as per 11-a-side rules.
  • There is no offside rule.
  • The goalkeeper must not hold onto the ball for longer than 6 seconds, otherwise a penalty will be given to the opposing side.
